I break my year up into 90 day periods, during each of these 90 day segments; I have one or two priorities or goals that I focus all my energy on achieving. Mother was sleeping but we know that even in a coma people can hear; it is the last sense to go. Common Causes of Misbehavior
6. Testing. I bet a day doesn’t go by when we are not tested. You may feel tired or worn down. Your child may sense your weakness and continue as long as you might give in. Develop family rules that are most important to you. Those rules are non-negotiable. (Ie. No hitting, biting or kicking.) Agree before hand what the consequence will be, too, so you’re prepared with your response. Then enforce the consequence consistently so the child knows that you’re serious. Don’t cave on house rules.

2. Power. Oh, boy. Haven’t we all been there? As a parent you will likely feel angry and feel like your parental authority is being usurped. If your child complies, they’ll be defiant about it and if not, you’ll be engaged in a big power struggle with someone who wants to “win.” Try to find a way to gain your child’s cooperation. Be creative. Ask them to help you solve the problem. Look for a way that both parties can win by trying to involve your child in the solution.
4. Display of Inadequacy. You may feel hopeless, or feel like giving up, too. Your child will likely be unresponsive to your immediate reassurances. This problem will take time to resolve because it’s a self-esteem issue. Stay positive! Focus on strengths. Praise even baby steps toward progress. Don’t give up on the child!
7. Developmental Change. When your child starts kindergarten, for instance, the tension of making a developmental transition can come out as misbehavior. You may feel confused because things were going along smoothly for awhile and now this! The child will be resistant to your intervention because they’re feeling overwhelmed and don’t know an appropriate way of expressing it. Approach the child with empathy and respect for the big changes they are undergoing. Try to help them put into words how stressful it can be. See if you need to adjust your rules to be more age-appropriate and look at ways to offer them more independence if they’re ready for it.
I’d like to offer you some ideas today about common causes of a child’s misbehavior. I’ll also offer some pointers on how to address the misbehavior if you get a gut feel about the reason behind the misbehavior,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
5. Imitation. You will probably feel embarrassed. The child may be confused when you try to correct the behavior. As we all know kids imitate us. They may not even understand that what they’re doing is wrong. If you’re the culprit modeling something inappropriate (ie.swearing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], slamming doors) you have to change your behavior.
I know that as parents we’ve all wondered, “Why the heck is she behaving this way?” Or “Why on earth can’t he just behave?”
1. Attention,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. This is a very common root cause of misbehavior. You are likely to feel annoyed. Your child is likely to temporarily stop the misbehavior but then resume it again not long after. Your best strategy is to ignore the problem. Try focusing your praise and attention on positive behaviors that you want them to repeat,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Try redirecting them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Also call a spade a spade and just tell them. “I see that you want my attention right now. Can you think of a positive way of getting my attention instead,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]?"

3. Revenge. You will likely feel very hurt and want revenge,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], too! You can be honest with them and tell them that their words have hurt you and you are saddened by that. I had times where I was discouraged and yet I stayed mightily determined to move forward no matter what. Sometimes, it seemed to be the only way I could make anything happen in my world.
Part of making the best of every situation is understanding and reminding yourself this is a temporary condition, not as permanent as it feels right now. Just tell yourself, “Do not take this personally. You are not the only one this has happened to. There are always solutions even if I don’t see them right now”.

• Paying down your high interest debts.

Any more complaining than that and it clouds the good things in my life. Soon enough I forget what I have going for me and I start to believe what I am complaining about really IS A PROBLEM!
Not walking ever again is a problem. Getting someone to take out my garbage for a few weeks is an inconvenience. So if you can’t count your blessings, count your inconveniences but only for 2 minutes.
Once you practice it for awhile you will see it lightens your mood and resets your perspective on what is right in your life. Remember what Hubert Humphrey “…it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.” Being grateful for what is left is a great place to start “it unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. Everyday I hear people around me talking about how high groceries are, how intense the banking environment is and how the economy is changing their “normal way of life”. Change is upon us. We are all having to get creative with our budgets and alter our habits whether we like it or not. Americans dislike having any limitations put on us. We whine and complain with neighbors and friends about all our problems. Certainly consulting and conferring with each other will make us feel better. Right?
Remember, we are doing what we can with what we have where we are? There are plenty of things you can do to help yourself.
Did you ever hear the stories about those people who have money, lose it and earn it back no big deal? They don’t criticize; they just make new plans. Having wealth is a fact to them just as “Today is an awful day.” is a fact to the complainer. More millionaires were created during The Great Depression than any other time in history. I am willing to bet the need of the times activated an innovative creative spirit in Americans. Everyday I hear the same attitudes in people around me.

Our attitude is our greatest resource. Attitudes drive behavior. We always have a choice as to what attitude to adopt. “An attitude of gratitude will transform everyday disappointments and frustrations” according to Melody Beattie, best selling author. MORE-THAT FIRST STEP (forgiveness),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
As usual, my coaching mentor, Dr. Randin Brons has hit a very good topic with this week's Idea Engineer.
Recently I did a blog on that first step that sparked very good response. Response indicates that it caused some thought,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and I love to do that internally and spark it in others.
Randin talks about a first step to forgiveness, and his words are in keeping with I try to live and coach others in. This week says:
The first step to forgiveness
To forgive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we need to decide that we won't allow the memories of the event to poison us any longer. We're ready to heal this wound from the past and open to a fresh new beginning.
